What it the optimal way? It is very much individual, time specific and symptom specific.
Overall, the effort towards homeostasis should be able to be maintained with something along the lines of 80/20 ratio also in nutrition. Life is not supposed to be a constant aim towards perfection but a balance of being a little better and having pleasure and fun in life.
